Do be careful with your email accounts, have witnessed a lot of accounts being compromised because of a lack of security of the computer or notebook allowing for stealing of the passwords and scammers are using them to blast out spams and scams.
We have been alerted to a large number of viruses pretending to be faxes via email or printing via emails. We would like to alert customers when receiving such virus attached emails to be extremely alert and to notify or verify with your administrator. There are too many viruses and trojans out there in circulation, it is better to be safe than sorry.
Once in a while, we have customers’ feedbacks on problems sending or receiving emails. For sending emails, some of the receiving email servers set their anti spam levels far too high or inflexible, this cause a lot of false positives. For such issues, we can only identify the problems and highlight to our customers to tell their counterparts. For receiving of emails, we follow the standard setups, there is a trend now whereby SMEs setup email servers in their own offices thinking that it is very easy. But more often than not, the email servers setup are not standard email servers, without proper reverse DNS etc causing them not to be able to send to a lot of other email servers. We normally categorized the problems and inform our customers.
Problem about emails is that there is no one specific rule or regulations, it is out there in the world for anyone to setup in whatever ways they want. We try to lessen the problems by setting up our servers using the most commonly accepted protocols and methods. We hope that our email providers also do the same so as to lessen the problems of the users.

Firstly we asked them both to calm down first and explain all the evidence that they had. I guess by now all of us will have received at least a few suspicious emails asking you to click on the attachments to view some supposedly urgent issues. For such emails, be extremely careful. If you really think that it is a valid email, google for the phone number if it is not visible in the email, call via phone to ascertain. Never anyhow open an email. Another way is to double check on the headers. View full headers, if the headers are not similar to the sender of the email you had received, it is very easy to classify it as just another scam.
DMARC seems to be an extremely interesting anti phishing initiatives by the big guys. We are checking it out to see if it is suitable for our implementation so as to provide better security and services for our valued customers.

After the floods in Thailand, hard disks are still relatively scarce. It can take from 28 to 58 days to order specific brands and capacity of hard disks. Also costs have escalated a lot. I should think that the situation will settled in late Mar 2012.
There is now no North South East West datacenters. All are consolidated into East and West datacenters.
There is quite a few unclaimed servers after the migration. These really represent a headache. Officially we can just disposed of them. But really worried what if the owners came looking for them. Very unlikely but who knows? But our store space is nearly full. If we disposed of these old servers, what if they contained some information that is crucial to the owner? We aren’t liable. But liability is only one part of doing business. We still need to help customer or rather ex-customers as much as we can.
