Frankly I cannot believe this is true, I have seen it in a forum posting and actually when to the web site to verify. Isn’t it ridiculous? First for 10 TB you cannot use a normal hard disk, it needs to be SAN or expensive raid systems, secondly at $0.99/mth, you cannot even afford to pay for the electrical bill of the server. Thirdly how many sites do you intend to host in that server.

It is beyond comprehension. First we saw GB plans for peanuts which is already unrealistic for the survival of a web hosting company, now we see TB plans. I wonder what will we see the next time around. Will it be paying the clients to use web hosting services with no advertisements etc? Wonder in this way, what will the web hosters eat? Who will want to be a web hoster under such circumstances.

Google is different, they have plenty of cash to burn, also their offering of web hosting and email hosting is part of their strategy to capture the eye balls of clients. They also have a huge database to justify the use of SAN and other expensive equipment for such hosting. These are totally unavailable to the normal company, not to say a start up company where funds are scarce.

Wonder if schools still teach economics and Maths…….
