celebrates our 10th Anniversary on the 2 Nov 2007 and look forward to our 11th year of in operations with the same commitment that brought us the success as one of the largest Asia Web Hosting Company.

8 to Infinity is started out as a One Man Show in the home of its founder with a Pentium 100 PC and a 56Kbps Modem. It rapidly grew to become one of the largest Singapore and Asia Web Hosting companies with servers all over Asia serving a client base of about 60 000 users. 8 to Infinity currently manages 400 – 500 servers in various parts of Asia providing basic web hosting, dedicated hosting, managed hosting and Disaster Recovery services. To date, 8 to Infinity had never had to have a single Sales personnel, all businesses are from word of mouth. In 8 to Infinity Pte Ltd, there are engineers and technicians but no sales personnel.

8 to Infinity Pte Ltd philosophy is very simple, we train our staff to the best of their potential. Our happiest moment is when our staff is trained beyond the requirements of our company. They are then able to go out to get better jobs elsewhere and develop further. This is our belief and this is why we manage to survive and thrive in the 10 years in the cut throat web hosting business. And this is our contribution to society.

It is only about a week or two before 8 to Infinity turns 11 years old making us one of the oldest web hosting company that had began in Singapore. Another company is Webvisions, I would like to take this opportunity to wish Webvisions a Happy 11 Years Old Birthday too!

It is not easy to be a start up, especially one that had endured the challenges of the times and emerged as one of the largest in Singapore and Asia. From one single server to the nearly 500 servers we have now in the various countries is something I would like to boast about

The initial servers were what the vendors called Mercedes Benz because of the prices. Nowadays servers were far cheaper and powerful. But at that time not matter were able to afford server or datacenter space.

Also at that time there wasn’t many datacentre available. It was a tough struggle working 18 hours a day is common. We build up on organic growth refusing all Venture Capitals. I wanted a company that can last, their motives were very different from mine. The times past and it showed I was right, most of the start ups dot com under the VCs wound up and we are still there bigger and stronger. Alright enough of boasting Just kinda happy we reach this stage…..

There was a lot of times when we were really tempted to sell out or merged and listed our companies, but I am quite risk adverse I do not feel that it is right, prefer to go the company to a suitable size instead of concentrating only on listing on the stock market.
