Best Time for Entrepreneurship
Sunday, March 8th, 2009For those who may be unlucky enough to lose their jobs or for those students freshly minted out of the polytechnics or universities, fret not. Though it is a deep recession going on. IMHO it is the best time to try your skills in entrepreneurship. I am not advocating that you spend your entire fortune on the new business or company ventures you are trying out. Never do that, especially not in a recession. Remember watch your overheads. Costs should be kept to a minimal. Do SOHO, Small Office Home Office, plan to survive as long as you can without an income. Remember that all businesses and companies do not make money immediately, you take time.
Try to get whatever help you can from the various schemes by the government encouraging entrepreneurship. So what are you going to do? Do whatever you are most familiar with. For eg if your family has a shop selling joss stick, setup an online joss stick shop. I am not joking, normally brick and mortar shops when converted to online tends to be the most easily profitable. Of if you have a passion for design. How about opening an Internet store selling your own designed T-shirts and so on? Try to make use of the Internet as much as possible as it will cost you least.
