Building a datacentre Revisited

Seriously thinking of building a datacentre, this is in much contrast to our earlier stance of providing services rather than infrastructure.  Reason being the existing datacentres aren’t that stable, some closed, some shifted, some are taken over.   It can result in a lot of problems for us for eg shifting of servers.   Each shift can typically use up hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment and manpower.

Frankly after being in this field for 11 years, we are able to maintain a datacentre, though it isn’t really our core competency but it still is within our expertise.   There are a lot to consider when building a datacentre, the lines, the NOC staff etc.  It is not an easy decision.
