To All Customers and Non Customers alike, Happy Lunar New Year. The year of the Bull doesn’t seem as Bullish as any of us would like but do not despair and do not lose hope. What we are seeing is just the economic cycle in action. Sad that it is a recession, but as in life, there is always ups and downs.

Save as you can, spend as you need to. It is a recession, but if we were all to behave as if it is the end of the world, it will, because economy is a social science. It is heavily dependent on your mind set and my mind set. We do see a lot of challenges ahead especially for web hosting industry, where the costs are still going up and the prices is under extreme pressure to be reduced.

Chinese New Year

Live life as per normal, eat when you have to, spend when you need to, just be more alert on your budget. This is definitely not the end of the world. I really hate those commercials who are saying Recession Recession Recession. I do not hope that the current recession becomes a Depression because of our self fulfilling tendency to save everything and also engage in protectionism.

So if you do need hosting, especially in Asia, do look for us . Most important thing is never lose hope yourself. An economic cycle comes and goes, it is just a blip in the whole history of mankind. Life itself is a series of gambles, where there is up and there is down. We may be in a down period, but lets work together so that when the good times come, we are well prepared. Let those doomsday sayers rot themselves. For us, be Optimistic, Tomorrow will definitly be a better day!

Hosting industry wise is still an extreme challenge as given above. Costs are skyhigh in Asia, especially in Singapore where the demand for colocation space is still exceeding supply. It is felt that with the economy slowing and several major new datacenters being completed, this will alleviate the situation. But not the prices. Bandwidth prices haven’t really fell and actually was up after the Taiwan earthquake and still remains up. Utility bills reduction won’t filter down much as a lot are needed to cover the expenses that was being absorbed when the utility bills was skyhigh. We expect the industry to be challenging at least for the next two years.
