Clients who called up 100 times a day

We had recently had a request for help from a reseller whose client called him up nearly every second. That client wanted to transfer away from my reseller and basically his new web hosting company does not know the procedure and wanted my reseller to do the transfer for him. Firstly, it is not fair for my reseller to be helping his rival who is taking his business and secondly how do my reseller know his rival’s network and information to help transfer.

I urged my reseller to keep calm and to reply all in black and white just in case he need to file a harassment case. A few calm exchanges and that client decided to remind and not move to the competitor.

We have noticed a trend whereby web hosting companies are less than a few months old and calling established companies for help by pretending to be clients or otherwise. I find that this is quite an unhealthy practice. Maybe the web hosting industry needs to be regulated or such “Lemons” will spoil the overall image of the industry.
