We have notice since last year that the number of spams we block increased exponentially. That is even for stable servers which few new accounts are added or deleted. The spams keep increasing. Have read somewhere that the number of spams now exceed 90% of the emails that you are receiving.

Imagine that, for every email that is valid, you need to spend the equivalent of 9 email costs to clear away the spams. I would expect more and more spam. Maybe you will be looking at 0.01% valid emails if the spammers have their way.

Spammers are extremely versatile, block in one country, they can setup immediately in another, where the laws are less strict or less well enforced. Just read recently that Brazil defeated USA and China to be the next Spam King. I guess that title will keep going around developing nations and that we will be getting more and more overwhelm by spams.

Wonder will the Spammers kill the goose that lay the golden eggs? Will we be so fedup of spams that we forfeit emails altogether? Frankly, if I am not in the IT field, I have a very good mind to cancel all my email accounts. I really do not see the need to go through all the murky spams to search for one or two valid emails.
